To celebrate 20 years of Warp Records, we were lucky enough to be a part of their epic box set with our cover of Aphex Twin's Milkman and To Cure A Weakling Child.
You can see just how truly epic the box set is (and check out the tracklisting) here.
In light of me forgetting my camera at Steve's house, and us only practicing once since last Wednesday, this is what you get. A slow loris. Getting tickled. In video form.
Ten days seems like a lot and not enough all at the same time. Probably because they've been spaced over several weeks. And I think I forgot to count some days. And we worked on stuff last summer. And last tour. But still, this is a small victory for me, because I actually kept up with writing stuff about us writing stuff!
We practiced earlier today and continued work on the new song we wrote on Monday, making small changes but it's pretty darn close to being done already.
I've noticed a few people asking when the album will be out, and we're not too sure. Don't want to make any promises... so to give a frame of reference, we're most likely recording in August, mixing in September, then it'll be a few months wait for all the label stuff/press/stuff that we don't do/etc. to be done.
I forgot to take pictures today, so here's a few from our tour with Franz Ferdinand...
Remember the crap I was talking about in the last post? About how not every practice is the one where you crank out three new songs? WELL GUESS WHAT?! On Friday, we - uh... well, we didn't really do much.
But yesterday...
We chalked up another song! Okay, it's not three, but it essentially should be, just for how awesome it is. In fact, we were so excited, we recorded it and listened to it immediately.
We're pretty proud, and hopefully you guys will be too. We're back at it tomorrow.
I, uh... lose track of stuff easily. And apparently can't count to seven. Either way we practiced yesterday, and worked on recording demos so we don't forget the songs we wrote as easily as I forget what day it is.
Here's Luke plugging stuff into stuff:
We took most of the practice trying to get it to record properly, but hey, not every practice is one where you crank out three new ones... right? We'll do that next time.
